February 29, 1936 Strawberry Canyon, Berkeley, California.
General Comment.
Weather - a perfect spring day. Sun out
brightly, drying up the many mud puddles
that haven't been exposed to sun yet
so far this year. Probably because this
was our first real dry day - with sun
enough to dry things out - we were afforded
an excellent exhibit of pollen flying from the
alder trees in the creek bed. For two or three
weeks a few blossoms at the ends of the
branches of the many fruit trees around
town have been all that the trees could
do under existing weather conditions. This
is the kind of weather that will bring them
out in full bloom in short time.
Time - 8 am to 12 noon.
Party - 13 students of the Zool. 113 Class
led by Dr. Grinnell.
