Brush spotted tops of the hills.
The grassy tops of the north
rim and the grassy swails
among them and facing
slightly north from them
provided a place for Meadow-
Ranks; and many were present.
I did not determine what the
attraction was for Meadow-
Ranks here but they were
obviously getting food from
on the wet ground or the that
grassy grass & weeds. Likewise I
didn't determine what attracted
the Red-chuffed Flickers to
the ground but, they were there
(about 506) then) and would
retreat to the grove? eucalyptus
trees when disturbed. The
eucalyptus grove was
discussed in species notes a
[illegible] subspecies? for this trip.
