January 25, 1936 8.
General Comment.
Our trip started at 8:00 a.m. from
the n.w. entrance (to the University)
California Stadium on January
25, 1936. The party composed of 14
Zool. 113 students led by Dr. Lindale.
Our course started north
west to the n.w. side of the Greek
Theatre, circling thru a large
grove of Eucalyptus trees and
back past the stadium up to
Strawberry Canyon road. During
this part of the trip the sky was
partially covered with alto-
cumulus clouds but the sun
shone most of the time. The
morning was very brisk & cool.
At about 9:30 the birds
were at their peak of activity.
At 10:20 a heavy fog began
to drift in and by 10:40 the sun
was completely obscured by fog.
