T.Rodgers -1939 Sibley, C.I. Time 3 Pm. Found-Jan 28 1939 Location-Near Grizzly Peak Blvd And Arcade Ave. Berkeley "Nest" App 7" under ground in a hollow place under a large root. Found accidently when engaged in removal of stump. Am sorry to say "nest" was destroyed by stroke of Pick and unable to describe it further than as a hollow place. The elevation is app. 1000 feet at this Point. The adult was found first and upon removal discovered a young one with Tail cut off. destroyed it, and began careful dirt removal. found 4 young alive and 3 more injured. Destroyed them also. Total! Brought in 1 adult + 4 young. N<--E | W--S "nest" Stump
