(But did not stop to examine or collect
any. Other species of wrodles also probably
present. Began "hunting" after leaving
Walnut Creek and continued to do so
until reaching U.S. Hwy 50 E of Livermore.
Again "hunted" on Tassajara Rd from
U.S. Hwy 50 to Danville. Following
species noted:
Ambystoma - collected one just E of
Walnut Creek, a series of 6 just
E of Kellogg Rd on Vasco Rd.
Aneides - collected series of about 6
just S of Alameda Co. line on Vasco
Rd., series of 3 on E-W portion of
Tassajara Rd.
No Ensatina, Taricha or Batrachoseps
seen on "hunted" portions of road
but present on roads in Berkeley
Hills. All hunting done from car
so Batrachoseps probably easily
overlooked.
Bufo boreas } both common over
Hyla regilla } most portions of
road examined. One Bufo
collected just E of Walnut Creek,
Rana aurora - collected 3 on
northern portion of Vasco Rd.
Mole crickets very abundant along
Tassajara Rd. common locally
elsewhere.
Returned to Berkeley at 0330 14 Nov.
