22 July Arizona: Pima Co., Tucson
where we visited in the late afternoon with
Chuck Howe and George Bradt, the latter a
high school teacher, photographer and nature writer.
In evening visited W. Woodin family.
23 July Arizona: Pima to Yuma Co.
After inspecting Lewis' projects at University
in Tucson we drove to Yuma and hence
to Palm Canyon, Shilthouse Rito (Kofa) just
south of Quartzite. Objective; hunt for Hypha
orenicolor. No water found, apparently
only one slight sprinkle this season
based on rain marks on ground. Soil
around small palm grove dry. Saw
few Uta stansburiana, 2 & which taken.
24-25 July Calif.: Los Angeles and Oakland cos.
These two days entirely consumed in
driving back to Berkeley via Los
Angeles where an overnight stop made.
