18 July Mexico: Sinaloa: Mazatlan northward
Drove greater portion of day from Mazatlan
to point 7 mi. W Quamichil. A considerable
portion of this is dirt road in preparation
for paving. Several spots were made that
collecting stops along the way.
19 July Mexico: Sinaloa: N to Guaymas
Again much of day spent in driving and
collecting through region of Navajo and
Obragon to Guaymas. Camp made just
beyond north city limits at about 2400 hrs
after futile road collecting. During evening
stopped at showing roadside pools and
collected Pterophyta and Bufa debilis
20 July Mexico: Sonora: Guaymas and northward.
Entire morning spent bathing at Miramar
and in making supply purchases in town.
During afternoon and into evening (2400 hrs.)
drove N to Santa Ana and camped just
N of town. Night collecting, except for 1 dead
Trimerophodon, was poor probably because of
half moon.
21 July Mexico: Sonora: Santa Ana to Nogales
Broke camp at 4 mi. N Santa Ana in early
morning and drove directly to Nogales stopping
only to pick up 1 dead Thamnophilis cryptopsis.
By noon we had successfully crossed the
border with no trouble except that a better
