W. Reimer 1953 Journal 11 July Mexico: Durango & Sinaloa in the meadow both in the grass and under the numerous rotten logs but especially under the latter. Often 6 or 8 under a single piece. Ambystoma adults (4) were taken 3 under small rotting tree fragments in pine forest at edge of meadow and 1 in open meadow under log. Vestling juncos taken from pine forest. Several other stops made after passing over crest, some producing a few animals others not. Those captured include Crotalus triseriatus and lepidus, Sceloporus jarrovi. Camp set up for night only at 6500 ft. line. Heavy continuous rain shortly after dark. Thus for scenery beyond crest has been a magnificent multi- colored perpendicular cliffs arranged in series after series both horizontally and altitudinally. Also abundantly present are spectacular almost sheer forested drop-offs for 1000 feet or more. Most of this awe-inspiring scenery has been deny denied to us, except as slot scratched, because of rain, fog and cloud clouds. The road thus far from El Salto is good dirt road only a little rough in spots. Many buses and trucks use it every day and I've seen several ordinary passenger cars
