in the meadow both in the grass and under
the numerous rotten logs but especially
under the latter. Often 6 or 8 under a single
piece. Ambystoma adults (4) were taken
3 under small rotting tree fragments
in pine forest at edge of meadow and
1 in open meadow under log. Vestling
juncos taken from pine forest. Several
other stops made after passing over
crest, some producing a few animals
others not. Those captured include
Crotalus triseriatus and lepidus, Sceloporus
jarrovi. Camp set up for night only
at 6500 ft. line. Heavy continuous
rain shortly after dark. Thus for scenery
