7 July Mexico: Durango: Durango to Las Adjuntas
WSW of Las Adjuntas. The remainder of the afternoon spent in establishing camp which is in a clearing of pine-oak forest, upslope 100yds from a narrow meadow and small stream, and surrounded on 3 sides by largely barren rocky knolls. This area is posted as being El Borango but the town is essentially obliterated except for trash and old walls and is totally uninhabited. During the evening Zweifel caught one Eleutherodactylus on a nearby rock slope. The call was the same as that at El Vargel.
8 July Mexico: Durango: 6 mi. WSW Las Adjuntas, 8,500 ft.
During the afternoon (including a heavy but short rain) I captured a small series of small Anabrytoma larvae from the meadow stream and a Ennecees from under bark of a stump. Jerry found a Bufo and an T. arrauns during the same period. During the evening no Eleutherodactylus were heard to call but a chorus of Hyla squirella followed and a small series captured. Another small series of Anabrytoma larvae of a larger size taken from a nearby spring pool.
9 July Morning warm and sunny. Zweifel caught 10 Ennecees and a Cristalos
