W. Reiner 1953 Journal 21 Mar. Calif: Contra Costa Co. Visited both Triturus study areas. At Lafayette 1200-1240 hrs. Weather: clear, sunny, warm in sun. Moderately heavy rains last night. At Pinchurst 1055-1135 hrs. Heavy rains during past several days have swollen creeks. 22 Mar. Calif: Marin Co. With family stopped at three places near Woodacre, Tocaloma and Olena (localities listed under T. granulosus) with objective of collecting gravid & Triturus. At Woodacre took 1 Rana boyli, 1 Ancoides lugubris. At Tocaloma, a series of T. granulosus, at Olena T. granulosus, Hyla eggs, Thamnophis elegans aquaticus, and Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis, this last a DOR. Weather for entire day: warm, sunny, clear. 23 Mar. Calif. Calaveras and Tuolumne Co. Dick Zweifel, Ernest Karlstrom and I drove to Sonora to collect Rana boyli and Triturus sierra. No Triturus collected, see that account. Weather for entire day warm, sunny, clear. Return trip from Sonora to Berkeley took just 3 hours. Made following stops in order given: 1'4 mi. S., 2 mi. W Copper- polis: 1 Mastigophis lateralis DOR, 1 Eumeces, 2 Scalopus. Angels Creek, ½ mi. S., 1'4 mi. W
