Visited only Pinchurst Triturus study area, 1600-1800 hrs, 8 animals handled. 30 Mar. Calif: Marin Co. Family and I made trip via San Francisco following State Hwy 1 from Golden Gate to Olema and then return by Fairfax, San Raphael and San Francisco. Objective: To examine pond in which Stolier in years past collected large numbers of granulosus. Pond lay between Olema and Bolinas. ② To collect a series of Marin Co. T. granulosus. Weather cool, clear, sunny. Pool not definitely located and only two granulosus captured. 5 Apr. Calif: Alameda Co. Richard Zweifel and I collected along N side of Mt. Hamilton Range. Objective to collect Rana boylii and Triturus where possible and also collect generally. Examined Alameda Creek 1¼ mi, N, 2½ mi. E Viles but no Triturus. Stream large 100 feet or more, murky, sandy banks. Only one isolated side pool seen though edges of stream quiet. Then following up Calaveras Creek toward Calaveras Reservoir picked up adult rattler on road. (See catalogue).
