W. Rainer 1952 Journal 4 Feb. Calif.: Humboldt and Del Norte cos. near Crescent City. No success with Triturus at all. Did collect large numbers of A. flavipunctatus, some Eusatina, Batrachoseps, A. lugubris, and a few P. elongatus, one Rana boylii. At end of day Odometer at 10700.5 mi. 5 Feb. Oregon: Curry and Coos & cos. After leaving our Mill Creek Park campsite stopped in cleared area on shortcut road to Fort Dick. Here collected large numbers of P. elongatus, P. ferreus, Eusatina, Batrachoseps, Hyla. Following 101 north got first Triturus again, shortly after entering Oregon. Camped for night near Coquille. At end of day odometer reading 10839.6. 6 Feb. Oregon: Coos and Douglas cos Collected along 101 between Coquille and Reedsport and inland along State Hwy 38 almost to Scottsburg. Camp for night near Douglas-Coos Co. line S of Reedsport. Odometer reading 10949.7 at end of day. Collected during day a few T. granulosus, Rhyacotriton, P. vehiculum, and Stabilinus got good series of P. dunnii and some Dicamptodon larvae. Weather cool, sunny with broken overcast. 7 Feb. Oregon: Douglas Co to Calif.: Del Norte Co. Concentrating largely on Triturus drove and collected S to Crescent City where camped for the night. Odometer reading at end of day 11138.2 mi. Large series of Triturus collected. Shallow pools
