Journal W. Rienner 1951 20 Oct. Calif.: Sonoma Co., dense redwood forest near bottom of small, now non-flowing side stream. Saw a subadult Dicamptodon taken under log. Saw one Dicamptodon in stream pool. Trip completed by driving on to Stewart's Point and then south to Russian River on Calif. Hwy #1. 10 Nov. Calif.: Contra Costa Co. Visited both Triturus study areas. At Lafayette 0940-1005 hrs. At Pinchurst 1030-1050 hrs. Weather clear, cool, sunny. Waterfowl common now at Lafayette, red wings in cattails. 8 Dec. Visited both Triturus study areas. At Lafayette 0930 hrs to 1015 hrs. Pinchurst 1045-1115 hrs. Weather cold, clear, high clouds. Waterfowl not common at Lafayette. No redwings, cattails beaten down by wind & rain. 29 Dec Visited only Lafayette area from 1700 to 1730 hrs. Triturus scarce. Soil saturated. Reservoir level up about two feet.
