W. Riemer 1951 Journal 20 Oct. Calif.: Napa Co. 2½ mi. E Wd. St. Helena. 20 Oct. Calif.: Sonoma Co. From above spot we drove directly to vicinity of Shaggos Springs stopping along the way to record only two snakes at the following localities: Thamnophis sirtalis (brilliant red head) DOR — 4 mi. W, ½ mi N Geyserville, and Thamnophis elegans aquaticus DOR — ½ mi. E, ½ mi. N Shaggos Springs. A short distance beyond Shaggos Springs — ½ mi. W, ¼ mi. N we made short stop for collecting Anaxides. Found 1 Anaxides lugubris, 1 A. flavi punctatus, 1 Rana boylii. Ground on hillsides very dry yet, although some evidence of rain. Stream clear, still flowing with considerable algae. Blackberries along bank ripe. No sign of Triturus, no sign of Crenidophorus either probably because of cool weather. Next stop made to collect in what appeared to be a burned area. Actually trees had simply been girdled. Much litter on ground but soil not very moist. Spent only short time looking under bark, etc. Only found 1 Sceloporus occidentalis, 2 Cnemidophorus skiltonianus, several Batrachoseps. This locality 5½ mi. W, 1 mi. S Shaggos Springs. Another stop made 4½ mi. S, 2½ mi. E Annapolis. Here in
