Journal W. Reiner 1957 2 Sept. Calif: Tuolumne Co. which he pointed out we collected three larval Triturus, almost 9a size for metamorphosing. All found by turning over rocks in bottom of pool. Pool 6 X 2 feet and at deepest 18 inches. Cold, no temperature recorded. Perhaps Triturus also present at Curtis Creek mentioned above if similar niche examined. For large numbers of adults in the spring Clarke suggested going to Italian Bar near Columbia or to region of Berkeley Recreation Camp, Harden Flat on State Hwy 120 near western boundary of Yosemite. Exact locality of larvae collected above is Woods Creek, 1½ mi SE Columbia. The total lengths of the three animals: 43, 46, 47 mm. 9 Sept. Calif; Marin Co. Trip made Marin to try to find state of development of Triturus granulosus and locate site where a large series might be collected when wanted. With wife + child drove via Vallejo, Novato, Point Reyes Station, Olema, Lagunitas, San Anselmo, San Francisco and home. Several miles west of Novato noted construction of a new dam site. This may be interesting to watch in the future to watch Triturus population, if any, grow. At present entire area between
