W. Reiner 1950 1951 Journal 16Dec. Calif.: Contra Costa Co. Visited both Triturus study areas today. Lafayette Reservoir 1030- 1115 hrs. 1100 hrs. air 15°C, water 14°C. Water extremely high. Several pair amplexing in cattail area by "lake level" gauge. None on land. Soil completely saturated. At Pinchurst 1145-1215 hrs. Stream still high and murky. Soil saturated. Several DOR's. Marked one juvenile #118. 20Dec. Calif.: Lake Co. One day drive to Clear Lake and back for purpose of seeing property near Clear Lake Park. About four hours drive to Lakeport via State Highway 29 from Berkeley. Captured one Triturus on return trip. No time for additional collecting. 6Jan. Calif. Contra Costa Co. Visited only Lafayette study area. Triturus in water and amplexing. 13 Jan. Visited Pinchurst only. Stream still high but clear. No Triturus seen. 10 Feb. Visited both Triturus study areas. Pinchurst 1030-1215 hrs. 1115 air 13.0, water 11.0. Stream flowing strongly but at normal level. Water murky in deeper holes. Five Triturus marked, one a recapture from 1949, (#10). Just before leaving light rain began, almost immediately many young and a few
