3 May Mexico: Guerrero: After looking at sea turtles
in water at Acapulco drove back to Mexico City
for night taking a Ctenosaura and a coral
snake on the roadway, both DOR.
4 May To Mexico: Hidalgo: After shopping around Mexico
City in the morning left about noon and drove
through to spot near Jacala to camp for
night in pine-oak mountains. Terrain
here is very steep, rugged and mountainous.
5 May To Mexico: Tamaulipas: Drove from near
Jacala to near Tuxpan during day. Most
of distance through low, green, dense, thorny
scrub. Hot and humid. Heavy dense haze every-
where.
6 May To Mexico: Nuevo Leon: Drove to Monterrey
for night. Short stop at Cola de Caballo water-
falls near Monterrey produced one small anuran
taken at base of falls in a small pool.
7 May To Mexico: Tamaulipas: Nuevo Laredo Drove
to border and crossed in late afternoon.
8 May To Calif: Alameda Co. With one day delay in
to Laredo drove directly home stopping for
12 May night at Kerrville, Texas; has Cruces, New
Mexico; Needles, Calif.
