W. Reiner 1956 Journal 28 Mar. Mexico: Chiapao: 6 mi. S.E San Cristobal, 7300 ft. both still present. Eye shine of both excellent. Many bats present also at spring. Since arriving here clouds have moved from S to N. This afternoon moved from N to S. Light showers of big drops & rain in early evening. Temp. in morning seems to be low, rising rapidly with sun to high & about 30 at midday and slowly falling in afternoon when breeze comes up, and rapidly when sun descends, 29 Mar. Spent morning S.W of camp on adjacent ridge where Koford and Pitekka had good hunting on the two previous days. Took 3 Aphilocoma unicolor a solitaire and robin. Also 3 mre Bolitoglossa salamanders in rotten log and under bark. In this canyon and on ridge timber denser and taller and whole appears more moist, probably due to almost continuous fog rolling over ridge. Vegetation & more tropical character. Afternoon in camp. This morning just prior to dawn light showers came and occasion ones throughout day. None enough to more than dampen things. Toward evening and after dark gusty wind blowing. Day almost completely and heavily overcast, 30 Mar. Spent three hours of morning pulling apart bromeliada on ridge to S.E of camp. Many invertebrates present
