Drapuato is center of strawberry culture and fruit available throughout year. 23 Mar. Mexico: Oaxaca: Drove from Mexico City to point several miles NW Oaxaca de Juarez where camped for night. Road not as good as that N of Mexico City but still good for 35-40 mph. Between Mexico City and Puebla one climbs to about 10,100 ft. into dense pine forest. Heavy frost on ground. Much snow on both Popocatepetl and Ixtaccihuatl 24 Mar. Mexico: Chiapas Drove all day to reach point several miles W of Tuxtla Gutierrez to camp for night. Vegetation became truly tropical on nearing Tehuantepes, Papaya, mango and coconut palms common. Some forest plants now blooming or starting
