22 oct. Calif, Contra Costa Co. all specimens
marked the same. From the small
area in which all animals have
been marked thus for a radiating
series of boards, as litter, will
be arranged so that the wandering
and dispersion habits of these
animals may be ascertained.
Boards are to be placed in a
series of arcs about this central
point with each arc roughly
30 feet from its neighbors.
Placement of such boards has been
started. Each animal recaptured
other than at the center of this
radiating system will be assigned
individual markings.
29 oct. Only a short period spent in Pinchurst
area. Pool beneath drain pipes only 3 ft.
square now; 7.6°, water ; 10.0° C, air.
Temp. at 0900 hours. Considerable
time spent painting coordinate numbers
on boards about study area. At the
Lafayette area handled 165 animals,
all from under single board.
5 Nov. At Pinchurst noted that pool below
drains only about 1 foot in diameter
and a very few (6?) weak larvae
