7 Oct. Calif, Contra Costa Co: Visited study
areas at Pinchurst and Lafayette
Reservoir. Improved former lower area
by adding more surface cover in
way of planks and branches of trees.
Marked two Rana boylii. In
latter area marked 284 young
Triturus torosus.
15 Oct. Visited both study areas again.
Added more surface litter to Pinchurst
area as last week. Recaptured one
subadult Triturus. Took photograph
as seasonal record. In Lafayette
area marked 270 animals under
boards A 4B only.
22 Oct. Visited Pinchurst and Lafayette study
areas. In the former stream still
dry and cursory examination revealed
one Triturus which was marked.
Also finished marking roadway
for night work. At Lafayette marked
148 specimens of Triturus, all young,
and 4 Hyla regilla. All of Triturus
marked with 0011 toe pattern with
following modified plan in mind.
Each visit to the area during which
marking is done on young animals
a different formula will be used and
