W. Rimer 1949 Journal 23 Aug. Colorado, Jackson Co., Mr. Rabbit Ears Peak to Clear Creek Co., Georgetown. During morning searched willow thickets and aspen groves on SE side of road. Here found P. sylvestica, B. boreas, P. nigita, P. pipiens and larvae of all except Bufo. Rand and Grizzly Creek localities would probably have produced P. sylvestica had search been long enough now that niche is in part known. Though locality here given as 5 mi. ESE Rabbit Ears Peak it would have been better to use 1.9 mi. NNE Muddy Pass Summit. Spent afternoon on notes. Drove in evening and after dark to Georgetown via U.S. Hwy 40 E-ward and U.S. 6 W-ward. Camped at Georgetown for night. 24 Aug. Colorado, Clear Creek Co., Georgetown to Mesa Co., Grand Junction. During morning took pictures of several of our live animals and then headed straight W for Grand Junction. Stopped only near Frisco to check once more for P. sylvestica. Found none in very short search but did take a large B. boreas and saw several P. pipiens. Camped for night at Grand Junction.
