18 Aug, Colorado, Pueblo to, Pueblo to Denver
in taking one R. pipiens. Drove then
on to Denver where we stopped to
visit with Mr. Al Elliott and family,
relatives of Bob. Met daughters Joyce
and June (Turis) and their respective
daughters Carol and Karin. Also met
Earl Elliott the son at whose house we
slept that night. Arrived about 1600
hours and enjoyed good food and
hospitality until bedtime.
19 Aug. Colorado, Denver to Morgan Co., Ft. Morgan
Continued visit until afternoon when
we drove to Boulder to the University
of Colorado and conferred with Dr.
Rodeck - director of the museum, and
Mr. Jones - Burdick - graduate student
in herpetology and asst. to Marlin.
Jones-Burdick is joining New Mexico
Univ. staff this fall. They provided
us with several papers and information
on where we might get specimens
desired. See R. Stebbins notes for details
of interview. Impressed with fact that
Colorado herpetology yet imperfectly
known and that this institution
herpetologically is still in checklist
stage.
