Sandoval Co., nr. San Ysidro Morning spent socially. In afternoon drove to
site of University of New Mexico Archaeological
Station 6 mi. NNE Tijera on State Hwy 10.
Here gave demonstration & collection
Techniques to Lt. McKinnon and family.
In area collected a dozen S. undulatus
and one large Coluber piceus which
Bob shot. Returned to town. In
evening drove to point SE San
Ysidro on State Hwy 44 to camp for
night. McKinnon's extended abundant
hospitality.
14 Aug. New Mexico, Sandoval Co.; to Santa Fe Co., Santa Fe
Stopped along State Hwy 4 in morning
at 7.5 and 8.1 mi. NNE Yemez Springs
to look for salamanders. Conditions
appeared ideal. Soil damp and both
timber debris and rock rubble examined.
Timber stand of Yellow pine, spruce,
henlock, aspen. 13 mi. W, 4 mi. S of
Tos Alamos hunted again in similar
situations plus along stream and in
stream. None found. 1 mi. further along
road, State Hwy 4, spent short time looking
again this time under bark because of
large number of felled trees. When just
