W. Rainer 1949 Journal 2 Aug. New Mexico, Grant Co., Silver City to Dona Ana Co., W Las Cruces Morning occupied by writing notes at site of Ficinia capture. During afternoon short time spent looking to specimens in vicinity but nothing turned up. During late afternoon drove by way of U.S. Hwy 260 and 70-80 to point near Las Cruces Municipal Airport W of town. Nothing collected today. 3 Aug. New Mexico, Dona Ana Co., Las Cruces to Otero Co., Alamogordo About one hour I morning spent hunting in sandy mesquite hummock area of campsite. Cremidophorus seen but none captured. In mesquite E of town shot several C. tessellatus. Extremely hot and mid day period spent in shade of A. and M. College. A puddle had formed under conifer at edge of roadway because of leaking pipe. Some lizard on two occasions dashed through grass into water and remained hidden (submerged?) in spite of search. Could this be a Eunice?; it was appar- ently the size of a large Cremidophorus. Also during morning on entering town searched about river. One S. undulatus and one C. quularis taken. In late afternoon at Organ Bob took 2 new-born Holbrookia,
