19 July Peña Blanca Springs to Mogoles, Santa Cruz, Ariz.
Also stopped to see if Hyla were in
place below camp. One was present
and in proper rock niche. Others
were still missing. Does this mean
that each animal has a certain spot
to which it returns each day to rest?
Such # is certainly suggested strongly!
Proceeded to Mogoles where shipping
container for specimens procured
and various personal matters cared
for during morning and early afternoon.
Afternoon and evening spent socially
with Sykes' family again. Most hospitable!
20 July Mogoles to Santa Rita Experimental Range,
Pima Co., Arizona. Packed specimens
in morning. Most, poorly preserved
and some thought to have hardened
properly earlier now not hard.
Could it be that intense heat of
tunicle parked frequently in sun
for several hours has cooled
specimens soft? Such should
be determined experimentally. Shipped
specimens from Mogoles and then drove
in part through heavy downpour to
Madera Canyon in Santa Rita Mts.
Following directions of one D. R. Stolbins
