W. Riemer 1949 Journal 18 July Arizona, Santa Cruz Co., Sycamore Canyon Rock ledges appeared good for Coleonyx, Et Robber frogs, rattlesnakes, etc. but considerable search revealed only one mashed S. clarkii. In ponds ½ mi. SW Spring found tarahumarae. Also in canyon took Thamnophis g. Cremido phorus g., Sceloporus c. and Rana p. About 1300 hours returned to camp and spent entire afternoon and evening writing notes, except for short trip to H. aranicolor spot below camp to see if they had returned to proper niche in rocks as marked on previous day. They had not! Pool level 12 inches higher. Had rain been cause of disappearance of animals? None at all present. While there I saw one more E. colliscephalus close to spot D. regalis taken previously. 19 July Peña Blanca Springs to Mogales, Santa Cruz Co., Ariz. Broke camp in morning stopping only to check two spots. In seepage area close to camp ground found considerable numbers of Microhyla eggs (presumably not described for this race yet) in cattle hoof prints.
