5-6 july Bloomingtont o Lake Mead Nat'l Recreational
Area, Clark Co., Nevada Las Vegas. Camped
that evening at bathing beach just above
dam.
7july Lake Mead Nat'l Recreation Area, Clark Co., Nevada
Day off. All I party went swimming,
got badly sunburned. Weather extremely
hot. All most uncomfortable.
8'july Lake Mead to 36.3 S Needles, San Bernardino
Co., Calif. Just outside Kingman looked
for Urosaurus ornatus. Found, but did
not capture one Sauronodus under
first rock flake pulled off, Further
search revealed nothing. Farther
along road to Needles collect small series
of Urosaurus gracilis in creosote brushes.
S of Needles in evening took 2 Chionactis
occipitalis but nothing more. Camped
at locality.
9 july San Bernardino Co, to Yuma, Yuma Co, Arizona
Continuing S on U.S. Hwy 95 picked up several
Diposaurus along road just N Riverside Co.
line. At Blythe turned E on U.S. Hwy 60470.
Just across River on Arizona side spent
most I afternoon writing notes and preparing
specimens. River wide here and though went
in for both noted lot of scummy blobs
floating on surface. Do such water safe?
