2 July Bloomington, Washington Co., Utah
Morning spent working up notes and caring for animals. Extremely hot.
Afternoon and evening spent looking for Rana onca and catching B. punctatus compactilis, woodhousii and Scaphiopus hammondii. Compactilis very common, and series of tadpoles taken.
3 July Bloomington, Washington Co., Utah
Most day spent hunting toads.
Road collecting at night yielded essentially nothing though all conditions appeared perfect. Collected large series of, and studied calls of B. punctatus, and succeeded in imitating S. hammondii call.
4 July Attempted today to get S. occidentalis or undulatus, both reported from Saint George. Did not succeed, though I succeeded in getting a Sauroromulus near Bloomington. Became ill at noon and did little else for day.
5 July-6 July Bloomington to Lake Mead Natl Recreational Area, Clark Co., Nevada Still ill and participated in no field work. Drove SW from Saint George to Las Vegas where camp made first night. Most day next day spent. Looking for Rana fischeri localities about
