24 June Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co, Utah
well informed person, mammalogist of
vertebrate zoology museum of U. of Utah,
and Mr. & Mrs. Mulaik also of zoology
department. The latter not particularly well organized
or well informed couple. See R. Stalbrin
journal for information on collecting in
Utah obtained. S.L.C. City appears attractive
town situated in valley bound in part
by Wasatch Mts. At present still
with large patches of snow. Town green,
lot of trees and lawns, clean, quiet.
University appears well situated and
pleasing in appearance. Strongly impressed
with entire city. In late afternoon
looked for Pseudacris without success in
Welch's Fish Hatchery, 1.5 mi. E Murray,
S of Salt Lake City. Did take several
R. pipiens and T. elegans however. Also
looked for Pseudacris in sedimentation
basin and channels N of Salt Lake City
on 8 West (St.). Camp again set up in
canyon above Capitol.
25 June Salt Lake City to Hobble Creek, E Springville,
Utah Co., Utah. Broke camp 0915 and
before leaving town collected small series
of Amblypteryx tigrinum, in reservoir near
University of Utah stadium. Then drove
