DOR on road between Big Pine and Deep Springs School were: Crotaphytus collaris, situation very rocky but none of rocks large, incense brush and buckwheat present but sparse, 6.1 miles E Big Pine. Sceloporus magister , 7.4 mi. E Big Pine. Salvadora hexalepis , 8.3 mi. E Big Pine. Pitrophis catenifer , 10.4 mi. E Big Pine. " " , 7 mi. W Deep Spring School. Coluber flagellum , 5.1 mi. W Deep Spring School. Arrived at Deep Springs near S end Valley just at dark. 19 June Deep Springs, Deep Springs Valley, Inyo Co, Calif. Presence of Bufa exsul in vast numbers apparent immediately. At least 25 present in water along 10 ft. of narrow ditch. Two Scaphiopus hammondii taken. Located by call. 20 June Morning spent photographing habitat of yellow-headed blackbirds present as well as many red-winged. 20 June 2 mi. S Beatty, Nye Co, Nevada Proceeding E from Deep Springs via Oasis and Nevada Hwy #3 (good, but impaired after Oasis) ran across thin but very extensive Yucca stands in Nevada. Largely confined to alluvial fans. Spent about half hour in various places
