W. Riemer 1949 Journal 19 June Mojave River, 3mi. N Victorville, San Bernardino Co. Calif. Left Van Nuys about 2030 (18 June) and via Mint Canyon, Little Rock, Pearblossom, +Victorville reached locality at 0100. Roads from Mint Canyon to Victorville appear good for road collecting. Temp. at 2400 (18 June) about 16°C. No moon. No reptiles. Too cold (?) Dipodomys and rabbits common. At locality Bufo californicus and Sceloporus occidentalis taken. Nyla heard. Cnemidophorus common, 1 taken. Utas present, 1 taken. Spent morning gathering series Bufo californicus larvae, form as yet undescribed. Common under algae mats at edge of stream in some spots. Also present were Rana catesbeiana as metamorphosed young and large larvae. 19 June Enroute Deep Springs Valley, Inyo Co., Calif. Left above locality about 1230 driving N on U.S. Hwy 395 to Big Pine. From Big Pine E to Valley. Latter road covered during 2 hours before dark. Following herps recorded as DOR. Diposaurus dorsalis with 2 large eggs, 1445 hours, 2.3 mi. S junction State Hwy 6 and U.S. 395 on latter road. Coluber flagellum (red phase), + 109. cm long, 18.6 mi. S Big Pine on U.S. Hwy 395.
