9 Apr. 1130-1530 spent in area. Weather: clear & sunny today and all week. Stream level still dropping gradually. Tempj 1335: air 20°C, water 11.8°C. 12 new Triturus marked in both areas, 2 returns. Few more egg clusters seem than last week though in no new spots. 87 seem to be losing pigment on soles and thighs.

Eggs of Triturus gathered 25 Mar. and apparently undeveloped began hatching today. Entire development since collection at room temperature. Dorsolateral stripes indicate torosus nature.

Experiments with injection mammal extract pituitary hormone completed. Conclusions: Dosage used (8 Apr.'49) caused extensive vascularization and inflammation of ventral surface plus severe swelling of cloaca in zone. Ovulation and sexual activity induced were zero. These results in agreement with other similar workers findings.
