D. Riemer 1949 Journal 19 Mar. Pinchurst, Contra Costa Co., Calif. Night caused stream to be very much swollen and extremely muddy. Stream course was thoroughly flushed. 3 new animals taken in area Sheet 1 and one recapture. Sheet 2 completed. 25 Mar. Tilden Regional Park, Contra Costa Co., Calif. 0830-1000 spend in search for Triturus of both sexes and eggs in Wildcat Creek at NW end of park. Water lower than 2 weeks previous but still too murky to see in deptths over 4-5 inches. ?T very common. At almost any point of stream where flow suitable one or more ?T could be seen. Only 6 ?? found during that period. 3 egg clusters also taken and appear to be undeveloped. 25 Mar. M.V.Z. Succeeding in isolating hypophysis and implanting into another animal. Gland reached by cutting away roof of cranium and lifting out brain. Then gland found lying in depression in
