sedges along edge of water. Weather: mild, sunny. Two adult ♀️ Triturus,
one juv., two ad. ♂️♂️, one in
breeding condition found in one
cavity at mouth of rodent burrow
under large planks. About 100± ft.
from water, 50± ft. above water.
Willow weed and grass. Soil loose
and damp. ♂️ One ad. ♂️ in
breeding condition under planks
75 ft. from water and 50 ft. from
above locale. ♂️ Two non-breeding
♂️♂️ together under plank. One
juv. alone under plank. Conditions
same as above. Water immediately
below these points (all close together)
showed no signs of egg clusters.
Water does not appear suitable.
Tilty, sandy bottom, rather cloudy,
little submerged debris. Water
level had been lowered until 3-4
ft. between water and nearest
vegetation at closest point.
