W. Riemer 1948 Journal Riverside, Riverside Co., Calif. 31 July moved at edge of highway while returning to car. Note made that in this extremely arid desert- like area the only SceIoporus seen was on one of few rocky extrusions about. Uta on other hand only seen in proximity of scrubby growth in wash or on slopes but not about rocks. Uta far more common in wash than on slopes. Suspected that Cremidophorus confined largely to wash also since no tail tracks noticed in loose soil on slopes. 9 Aug. Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif. 2 Aug. wife and I moved to Los Angeles for weeks stay with my folks. 8 Aug. began return trip to Bay Area via U.S. 101 and State Hwy 1 beginning at Las Cruces, Santa Barbara Co. Night spent at Morro Bay State Park, San Luis Obispo Co. This park apparently a bird refuge. 9 Aug. trip completed to San Francisco via State Hwy 1.
