W. Riemer 1948 Journal Camp Curry, Yosemite National Park, Mariposa Co., Calif. 2 July Thinner rocks had warmed through from heat of sun. Most all rocks directly on gravel substrate rather than on rock substrate. Only salamander uncovered during entire trip was an adult Ensatina. Very few Sceloporus seen during day. One taken. Had hoped to get series of intergrades between Dizariatus and taylori. Two Crotalus viridis seen during day. One in damp shady fern over- grown flood bank, the other in rocky shady talus. Both escaped. One Gerrhonotus seen by Stelbins in rocky area near river. One Thamn- phis o. couchii taken just above Mira Lake. Tenaya Canyon beyond Snow Creek Falls trail is passable, though not easy, on northern side of stream up to 5250 ft. Beyond this elevation it appeared impassable at current water level which is high.
