W. Riemer 1948 Journal Camp Curry, Yosemite National Park, Mariposa Co., Calif. well supplied with sun during day. The two animals were near the summit of the trail. Stebbins claims to have seen S. occidentalis at lower levels of trail during morning. Herps not abundant. During afternoon, well mangled Camporepettis m. multicincta found at edge of water, upper and of Mirror Lake. Weather: warm clear, sunny all day. 2 July Ascend of Tenaya Canyon made for purpose of checking on presence of population of Hydro- mantes at base of Clouds Rest. Approach to spot mentioned in Adams, Powell (1942) seemed impossible because of precipitous nature of walls of upper canyon. Snow present yet just below altitude mentioned by Adams but search under all movable rocks close to snow bank revealed no salamanders. Search not extensive thought situation did not appear exactly right.
