Journal Camp Curry, Yosemite National Park, Maripooa Co., Calif. Wife and S., and Robert Stelbuis family began vacation trip to Yosemite. Objective: recreation and collection of some of herps peculiar to area of Park. Especially anxious to obtain Hydromantes platycephalus, Scoloporus occidentalis taylori Bufo canorus. Route: Left U. C. Campus, Berkeley, Alameda Co. at 0900. Using two cars, proceeded via State Hwys 24, 21, U. S. Hwys 50 and 99 to Modesto where stop over from 1200-1300 made for lunch. U. S. Hwys 99 and State Hwy 140 followed to Yosemite reaching Valley floor at 1800. Camp set up in Public Camp #14. Weather: Cool in early part of morning in coastal areas, very hot during midday in central valley, cooler again in Park. 28 June Two Thamnophis taken in Tenaya Creek above Mirror Lake while several of party fishing in area.
