to W. Fox). Situation: marshy,
cattail stream bed three open
cultivated fields. Weather: cool,
clear, sunny. All three specimens
under debris and sluggish. 20
minutes spent in area. Continued to

revealed no Thamnophis. 1 Gerhantus
m. multicarinatus taken. Weather:
cool, clear, sunny. Situation:
riparian willow principally.
Object of this and following daytrip
to collect possible intergrading
forms of Thamnophis.

levee disclosed no snakes. Sceloprus
and Gerhantus occasional. Situation:
tules, cattails and sedges, Thamnophis
igica expected. Weather: cool, clear,
sunny. Marsh Wrens, Song Sparrows
common. Cliff Swallows abundant,
Barn Swallows occasional. Nest
under Bridge.
