Situation: riparian willow principally. Object of this and following daytrip to collect possible intergrading forms of Thamnophis. 8May Antioch Toll Bridge, Calif. #24, Contra Costa Co., Calif. Kirker Para Road to Antioch and Calif. #24 to Bridge. About 1 hour search along edge levee disclosed no snakes. Sceloprus and Gerhantus occasional. Situation: tules, cattails and sedges, Thamnophis igica expected. Weather: cool, clear, sunny. Marsh Wrens, Song Sparrows common. Cliff Swallows abundant, Barn Swallows occasional.
