11S class assembled 0730 at island
end & bridge. Observations made
between bridge and about 1000 ft.
E, from road. Birds abundant
on mud flats of San Leandro Bay
and on marshy parts of Golf
Course lawn across highway.
Observed in flight overhead:

2. Barn Swallows - common
3. American Egret - one
4. Mallard - group of four
5. Great Blue Heron - three
6. Various Gulls. On mud flats:
7. Black-bellied Plover - six (?)
8. Clapper Rail - one
9. Red-backed Sandpiper - one
10. Western Willet - common
11. Hudsonian Curlew - common
12. Long-bellied Dowitcher - abundant
13. Western Sandpiper - exceedingly abundant
14. Marbled Godwit - common
