Journal 25 Apr. Bolinas Bay, Marin Co., Calif. Nest of Redwing Blackbirds examined at mouth I canyon N end I bay. Other species noted in vicinity: About 6-8 Turkey Vultures, I Redtail (?), Hawk, Swallows, all flying above mouth I canyon. White-crown Sparrow, Brown Towhee & Humming bird (sp?) also noted in area. Vegetation: Meadow at mouth I canyon with lowest spot marshy sedge thicket. Sides I canyon mostly oak covered. Bay water just across highway from sedges. All above species in or above meadow area except Redwings which stayed in sedges or along water edge I bay. Never in meadow. Bewitch [illegible] heard in oaks. Great Blue Heron observed flying low across Bay. Weather: cool, clear, sunny, moderate breezes. Observations made between 2-6 o'clock. 26 Apr. Berkeley Hills, Alameda Co., Calif. Drove to top Panoramic Way, walked to top of first hill at head of Hamilton Quelch. There at about 1330 saw
