Alameda Cay, Calif.
in oak just E first telephone pole E
of poultry buildings spanning road
above Stadium. Nest about 5 ft.
above ground and suspended from
small twig; not in crotch. Since
walls appear very thin nest assumed
to be from last year and now
unused. Hutton's Vireo seen in same
spot. Observations concluded at
1645 and return to parking area.
3 Mar. Entered Canyon 1120. Western Mole and
Pocket Gopher seen along road.
Captured one Sceloporus along road
near cyclotron. Inspected old well
above Botanical Garden nursery.
No Sceloporus about the
weather and exposure excellent.
5 other Sceloporus captured within
Gardens. Return to flower campus
at 1630.
6 Mar. Entered Canyon as member of Zoology
113 class, with purpose of studying
Neotoma, at 0820. Suitable
mound found easily, about
half way up N slope and just
opposite Strawberry pool. With
running discourse mound
dissected by Rudd, leader of
group. Later, visit made to
abandoned building, (mentioned in
