San Francisco Co line, Skyline Blvd., San Mateo Co., Calif. Wade Fox, Mary Etta Voge, Dr O. Pearson and myself left for Fox's Thamnophis collecting area in Fox's car from campus at 0645. Bright and sunny in East Bay. Heavy, cold, moving fog until after 1000 over collecting area. First snakes taken were an adult — apparently had spent the night under a sheet of iron — and a number of young, both under objects, and wandering in the grass. As temperature rose in late morning larger snakes were taken. Pearson captured one Soot Sorey sp(?) Return was made to campus by 1400.
