W. Riemer 1947 Journal 3/10 - 5 1/2 mi. S. San Francisco Co. line, Skyline Blvd., San Mateo Co., Calif. 25 Aug .... A fair number (exact number unknown) were picked up under iron sheeting and crawling about in the grass. Species include Coluber constrictor mormon, Thamnophis sirtalis infernal is, T. ordinoides atatus. Three Gerrhonotus c. coeruleus were also taken. Northern Phaloropes were observed on one of the ponds in the area. The area was left about 1230. Lake Merritt, Lakeside Park, Oakland, Calif. 31 Aug. The latter portion of the morning and most of the afternoon were spent in the park by the author and his wife. Purpose of the trip was to identify the water birds.
