the same pond, presumably
all males. Distinguishing
feature and basis of this
identification: needle-like
black bill and black legs.
3/10 - 5 1/2 mi. S. San Francisco Co. line,
Skyline Blvd., San Mateo Co., Calif.
25 Aug. A routine collecting trip of Wade
Foy. Present were Wade, myself,
and my wife. Trip was made
by auto from Berkeley starting
at 0630. First stopping place
about 5 mi. S. & Co. line, the
weather poor. High fog, cold
breeze and little sign of
breakup. Ground and grass
dry. Preliminary search
showed snakes were not
yet out. Later in the morning
with the sun beginning to
break thru for short intervals
collecting became better. ...
