W. J. Riemer 1947 Journal Lassen Volcanic National Park, Calif. cont. 9 Aug. the same habitat. Later at a point 200 yds. W. of Old Station along an irrigation ditch two Thamnophis ordinoides elegans were taken. All of the day's collecting was done jointly by R. Stebbins and myself. 10 Aug. Again the day was spent in the S. g. gracilis study area. In the morning on the way to the area a turtle, probably Clemmys mar- mota, was observed running on a floating log in the Lily Pond, Lassen Park. An attempt to capture was unsuccessful. Ident- ification is necessary since if it is the suspected species it may be a new altitude record. 11 Aug. A drive to Redding from Manzanita Lake showed great numbers of Horned Larks near the valley floor. A boa, Charina bottae, D.O.R.
