Reno were he and Allen Sutton swatted
down approximately one dozen bats. Pete
put up about two skins. Allen put up
specimens 70, 73 and 75 and gave me
the skulls. Some of the bats were kept alive
for a few days, the last one being killed
a week later, and then being put up as a
study skin. Allen Sutton lives in Lafayette at
3244 Glenside.
Sept 2.
A Chipmunk was caught in a live trap on
August 31 and was kept alive until today.
Reason for its death is unknown.
Sept 3.
Driving along the "shortcut" road from
Brookway to Truckee I watched a car hit
a chipmunk. The rodent was collected and
taken back to camp were it was prepared.
The skull was not worth saving. It was
collected seven SE miles from Truckee,
therefore it was probably in Placer Co.
Sept 25
A raccoon was found dead on road about
1/2 mile below (w) the U. C. Botanical Gardens
in Berkeley, Alameda Co. It was a very young
one and still in good condition. Skull and
skin saved

Bats (Macrotis) that were collected by Curtrice
Pleddel in Pinal Co. Arizona were frozen by
him and some were given to me on Sept 29
