catalogued was one Thomomys bottae skull which was
collected in May 1952 along Craymont Ave in Berkeley
Alameda Co, Caly. Animal was found alive on a lawn.
Also recorded was a Sciapanus latimanus skull
which was removed from a specimen found in
backyard of a home along Santa Clara Ave between
Morton and Benton Street in Alameda, Alameda
Co on 4-29-52.
April 23
Sagchen Creek Basin ±6400 ft. 3 mi. NW
Hubert Mills, Nevada Co. 15 steel traps, no. O,
were set out in hope of catching a weasel. As
an experiment, canned saitanines were used for
bait. Traps were set out at 9:00 in mornings.
When checked at 12:30, 2 traps had been
disturbed while a third held a beechyi ground
squirrel. Nothing was caught on other checks this day.
April 24
Traps were checked in mornings. Nothing in traps except
one Peromyscus. The traps have now been rebaited
with parts from the ground squirrel caught yesterday.
The traps were checked at noon and a downy (?)
woodpecker had been caught in the same trap
that the Peromyscus had been caught in. The traps
were baited with more saitanine along with the
ground squirrel meat.
April 25
The traps were checked at 8:00 in the mornings
and a weasel had been caught in the same
trap that had caught the Peromyscus and the
