E.M.Brock 1956 May21 6 mi. N Ophir, Curry Co., Oregon fresh water could be seen next to the gravel pit and tree frogs could be heard croaking. Seven Hyla were collected from this pool and also seven Danicha. The Ocean is only about 1/2 mile west of here Left this locality and started driving south again along the coast. At 1.3 mi. N of Weddellburn (which is right at the mouth of the Rogue River) a weasel was collected dead on the road. A mouse lay dead about two feet from the weasel and presumably was being carried by the muntjil when a car hit them. These were collected and later I prepared the mouse and Dr. Benson the weasel. We drove on through Gold Beach where we cat breakfast, Pistol River and over the California line, through Crescent City and past Orick. We stopped at Fresh Water Lagoon just north of Stone Lagoon to look for a campsite. We picked up two Gerrhonotus on the west side of the lagoon. We drove on to a campground on the west side of the road, 5 miles S of Orick, which took us to Stone Lagoon where we stayed for the night. Fifty snap traps were set out. May23.
